Femoral Acetabular Impingement (FAI):
Dr Ford is the only surgeon in the area who is trained in arthroscopic treatment of FAI. This allows for a much less invasive approach in comparison to the traditional open technique.
FAI is a hip disorder which is caused by an over-coverage of the acetabulum and/or an mis-shaped head of the femur. Ultimately, this causes a pinching mechanisim in the hip joint. This can result in pain, damage to the labrum (a connective tissue in the hip), and it may potentiate arthritis of the hip.

Direct Anterior Approach for Total Hip Replacement
Dr Ford has special training to perform a new approach to total hip replacement surgery. He uses natural muscle intervals through the front of the hip where he does not cut any muscles or tendons during the procedure. Being that these muscles are critical for hip stability, it potentially allows for increased stability and quicker revovery. Many of our patients go home the following day.
